Devoted concentration for the national assessment

Trees of fire and silvery flowers lighted the night.   On March  5,   the Century Square of WFU  was crowded  with  excited  people laughing happily  and  singing  the university song loudly.  Centering on “Vari-eties  of  fireworks  adding to the  festival of lanterns,  Devoted concentration  for the national  assessment”,  an  evening party  of  fireworks was being held  here.  Present   on  the  scene  were a  total  of over   20,000  teachers  and  student and  the university  leaders:  Li Qingzhi,  Wang Shoulun,  Niu Zhongshun,  Jun Xianli,  Wang Huihan,  Feng Binlu,  Li Zongbu,  Wang Qingming and  Ding Zixin.

The Party Secretary , Li Qingzhi, delivered a speech. The year 2006 will be an eternal memory  for  all  those  in  WFU.   The  success  of  the  55th  anniversary  has  greatly  enhanced  the  sense of  solidarity of  all  people,  expanded   WFU's   popularity  and established  a  favorable  image of  WFU.  We will try to lay a solid  foundation for the overall, healthy and harmonious progress by taking the national assessment as a good chance  to fully develop the connotations of WFU, to strengthen the various aspects of party construction and  ideology and  politics,  to improve  the  teaching conditions, to make breakthroughs  in academic  research,  to optimize the makeup of  the teaching staff,  to make  the  education  and  administration  of  students solid and effective,  to improve  the  service  of  logistics  and  to  make  greater  progress   in   international cooperation and exchange.  Our work has attracted the attention from such nationally influential  media  as  People’s  Daily,  Guangming  Daily,  CCTV,  Central  People's Broadcasting  Station,  etc.,  which have already made over 400 pieces of news about  WFU  known  to  the  public and hence greatly improved our social  popularity. Mr. Li Qingzhi  delivered  two lines  of  verses  meaning  to  the effect that we can sense the coming of spring everywhere and feel the urgency to go forward. The assessment from the National  Ministry  of  Education  will  be  the  top  priority  of all  the teachers  and students of WFU.  It concerns the very interest of everybody. Therefore, all of us should get united to fight for a desirable achievement.

With harmony, advance, unity and devotion as  the themes,  the fireworks display had three episodes. The  first  episode “Meet in Spring” marked  the  beginning  of   the evening   party.  The  colorful   fireworks   in  the  blue  sky   expressed  the  happy  atmosphere  of   WFU.  The  second  episode “Blessing WFU”  led  the  party  to  its climax.  Countless  strokes  of  silvery  and  golden   threads   falling  from  the  sky symbolized the prosperity brilliance of everything.The third episode"A Flying Dream "  managed with special designs  to  make  the scene more splendid  and  impressive.  It symbolized WFU' s  pride  on  a  new  journey and its brighter future.

The everlasting beautiful  fireworks  invoked heated applauses from the audience.  At last, the music fountain gave off excited melodies, which gave rise to the square dance party.
